Recent Work:

  • Retained for 4 years in advising Nottingham based motor vehicle service centre in trade mark dispute with a large luxury German manufacturer.
  • Advised Nottingham based software company on software licensing agreements with private sector (including FTSE 100 companies) and public sector organisations.
  • Advised German software company on software licence arrangements as a sub-contract pursuant to a multi-billion pound prime contract and on a potential reseller agreement with a US multi-national.
  • Defended an East Midlands based company against allegations of design rights infringement.
  • Retained to advise mailing company on intellectual property, data protection and licensing matters in relation to its data and business.
  • Advised start up company on new and innovative internet services business, including terms and conditions of trade, and brand protection.
  • In conjunction with Leading Counsel advised a “best of breed” software company on a software licence implementation dispute with a large public sector organisation.
  • Successfully defeated a claim for Summary Judgment on a database right claim (Beechwood House Publishing Ltd v Guardian Products Ltd and Anor [2010] EWPCC 12, 26th October 2010)
