At the recently founded Nottinghamshire Junior Lawyer's Division (NJLD) election night held on 27th October 2008, ABG's own Associate from the Employment Group, Kathryn Meir, was elected as Chair. The NJLD is formed from the previous Trainee and Young Solicitor's Groups in Nottinghamshire. The group represents over 600 trainees and solicitors with up to 5 years' active practice across the county.

The NJLD is running an exciting programme of social events to enable members to meet fellow solicitors in Nottinghamshire and encourage networks of contacts to be built up within the profession.

The NJLD also runs career and soft skills events to open up new opportunities for members. Networking events held jointly with RICSMatrics (surveyors) and NCASS (accountants) will be held to build cross professional relationships. This is ever more important in the current economic climate.

The social calendar of the NJLD kicked off to a big bang with the inaugural JLD Ball on Friday 14th November 2008. It was a night when lawyers in Nottinghamshire defied prohibition laws to attend the illicit speakeasy at Colwick Hall. Attendees enjoyed a three course dinner whilst being entertained by a magician and a fabulous jazz and blues band. The event was attended by some of ABG's younger generation pictured below:
