Hundreds of people enjoyed the sunny weather at the Kesteven Rugby Club Ground near Grantham on Saturday 30th May when they were entertained to an “It’s a Knockout” championship involving over 200 competitors.

The event raised nearly £12,000 for the children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent, including approximately £1500 raised solely by ABG’s Head of Company and Commercial Group, Tim Sisson who was one of the event organisers. Tim undertook a sponsored slim especially for the event and said “It was a brilliant day for all involved. I lost 22lb in weight and the charity benefited as well, so everyone was a winner.” Tim coaches for the Under 15’s at Kesteven and two of the teams participating in the It’s a Knockout event were made up of boys from his squad, one of which, the “Bennington Bees” won the junior section of the event.

The day wound up with live bands and camping for those who wanted to stay on and was so successful and enjoyed by so many people that the organisers plan a repeat next summer. Any groups can register a team and we will post details for those interested on this web-site next spring.
